CAMP IS FULL; REGISTRATION CLOSED

We're back out at Copper Mountain for our annual Fall Camp. This year, we will once again have well known Masters coach and racer Matt Fox as Head Coach. We will also continue to have coached Drill time as a part of the camp as this was very popular last year. See below for schedule details.

Detailed Schedule:

We will be training GS Sunday and Monday, and SL Tuesday and Wednesday. We will have 2 on-snow sessions each day, one being gate time and the other being drill time. We will also have video sessions to review runs in the gates, review drills, or both. We will not have a video session on Wednesday to allow for travel.

PLEASE NOTE: LANES ARE NEVER GUARANTEED. Changes may occur due to weather conditions or other factors. Please be ready in the event we need to alter our schedule.

If you are planning your flights, arrive Saturday night at the latest. A 6pm or later flight Wednesday night should be okay ASSUMING AN EARLY LANE TIME and FAIR WEATHER CONDITIONS. We do, however, recommend leaving Thursday to be safe.

Updated 10/25 - note that this is TENTATIVE

Lodging Info:

There are always a TON of great inexpensive options this time of year at Copper. Your best option if you want to stay close to the lifts is Center Village at Copper Mountain. For the very best deals, especially if you and at least one friend plan to attend, is to check vrbo.com or airbnb.com. You can easily find accommodations steps from the American Eagle lift for $100-150 per night per person; even less if you have more people.

Coaching:

Matt Fox will be coaching us again this year. Matt is an awesome guy, Midwest native, and a great coach; he has coached with Midwest Masters and with other Masters programs for many years. Here's his bio:

Matt started teaching skiing in Wisconsin at Devil's Head Resort. Achieved Level 2 certification in PSIA. Found out that he could teach out west. Moved to Colorado in 1987. Worked for the Copper Mountain Ski School for 15 years. 3 years as a Supervisor in the Kids Ski School. Trained other instructors for their certification. Worked his way up to Level 1 Examiner in PSIA Rocky Mountain. Coordinated the Ski School Race on Sunday nights for 8 years. Coached all kinds of racers striving to be a top level coach. Moved to Copper Mountain Race Dept in 2002 to head up the Master's Program. Found his niche blending technique of skiing with going fast for adults eager to learn. Worked all kinds of events from Boarder/Ski Cross to FIS Downhills as a Rocky Mountain Ski Race Official. Moved to Team Summit in 2013 to start a new Master's program there.

Summers involved a couple seasons in New Zealand teaching with instructors from all over, learning what a full time professional is. Developed a remodeling business to round out the year. Found the Summers in the High Country much more preferable to the High Humidity of the Mid-west. Mountain biking became the “other” sport. Racing in the late 90's. Taking more vacations for biking than skiing.

After going to School in Wisconsin for Architectural Drafting so he could design houses, he eventually began Building and Remodeling homes here in Summit County a great balance to the winter. Now he's living the dream of Skiing and Biking, helping people go fast and seeing the kids grow and develop.
